Land achieves excellent results at Kivells’ February Collective Property Auction

With 16 sought-after lots on offer, including land, residential property and development opportunities, Kivells’ second collective property auction of the year generated strong interest from a variety of purchasers, resulting in sales topping an impressive £2.1 million. 

Land continues to sell extremely well at auction. With 140 acres on offer, ranging from small development plots to larger areas of productive grassland, interest in the auction room was strong, with bidders battling to secure their desired lots. 

The three lots of land at Binkham Farm in Yelverton proved extremely popular with 6.66 acres selling for £125,000, £60,000 above its guide and 8.60 selling for £110,000 against a guide of £45,000. The 5.89 acres of land, including a useful general purpose building with stabling, sold for £180,000, an impressive £105,000 above its guide. 

Two lots of land at Higher Pigsdon in Launcells, Bude also generated strong interested on the night. 42.21 acres sold for £350,000 against a guide of £330,000 and 21.66 acres sold for £150,000. 

0.275 acres of land behind 14-18 Youldon Way in Horrabridge sold for £20,000 against a guide of £25,000, 12.90 acres of land East of Beechlea, Coads Green sold for £175,000 against a guide of £125,000, 33.18 acres at Trevedda, Lanteglos saw the hammer fall at £300,000, £20,000 above its guide and 0.57 acres of land at Neydown in Treskinnick Cross, comprising a block built barn, hardstanding and paddock, sold for £130,000 against a guide of £100,000. 

Rose Cottage, a spectacular renovation project in St. Neot, received multiple viewings in the run up to the auction and sold for £150,000 against a guide of £100,000. 

February’s auction concluded with two fantastic properties nestled on the prestigious Lanhydrock Estate. With both requiring an element of modernisation throughout, 1 and 2 Newton Cottages offered great potential to renovate and provide two excellent homes in a picturesque location. Offered to the market for the first time in its history, and guided at £200,000, 1 Newton Cottage sold for £225,000. 2 Newton Cottages, with approximately 0.85 acres and a range of outbuildings, sold for £275,000 against a guide of £250,000.
