Kivells’ September Collective Property Auction was a resounding success seeing 14 lots go under the hammer, achieving more than £1.5 million in sales, to the delight of vendors and buyers alike.
This year has seen over £15,000,000 of property and land successfully go under the hammer with Kivells and, with two auctions remaining, 2024 is set to be the company’s most successful year to date.
Keen bidders filled the auction room at Lifton Strawberry Fields in Devon hoping to secure their favoured lots.
Solicitors, surveyors, and other property professionals from across the West Country were also invited to experience the late summer auction and observe the lots on offer go under the hammer, which included land, residential property, and commercial opportunities.
First up on the evening was 4 Humphreys Close in St. Cleer. This two-bedroom detached bungalow, nestled in the heart of a picturesque village, sold for £190,000 against a guide of £150,000.
Old Tredallett Farm in Duloe generated huge amounts of interest prior to auction. Bidding was fierce in the auction room for this substantial farmhouse set in generous grounds of approximately 7.22 acres with the hammer falling at £415,000, £65,000 above its guide.
The Carlton Suite, a former commercial premises located in the Cornish market town of Liskeard, sold to an online bidder for £115,000, £25,000 above its guide.
The land market remains very busy with plenty of land offerings also set to feature in Kivells’ 9th October Collective Property Auction, extending the traditional season well past the summer.
Approximately 0.21 acres of land at the spectacular Trebarwith Strand sold for £13,000 against a guide of £10,000, 4.91 acres of land at Lower Clicker Road in Menheniot sold for £50,000, £8,000 above its guide, and 12.26 acres of land at Burrow, Bratton Clovelly reached its guide of £100,000.
3.50 acres at Metherell, Callington saw the hammer fall at £60,000, £10,000 above its guide, 0.33 acres of land at Berry, St. Dominick sold for £21,000 against a guide of £15,000 and 57 acres of land at East Thorne, Kilkhampton surpassed its guide of £475,000, selling for £480,000.
A unique opportunity to purchase a small parcel of amenity land with a Nissen Hut style building, formerly used as a workshop, also proved popular, selling for £52,000 against a guide of £40,000.
