Director Thomas Rattray has recently prepared a Farm Business Tenancy (FBT) for the private rental arrangement of farmland for a client nervous about the prospect of selling (or listing on the open market) where they were only used to grass keep in recent years.

The client swifty agreed terms with the neighbour (and previous grazure) to take on a five year FBT on terms more suited to our client's position.

Thomas Rattray commented, 'Whilst we often let land on the open market to enable the market to dictate true value, in these circumstances, when a favoured tenant was obvious to identify, it was reassuring to put in place a tenancy quickly to the benefit of both landlord and tenant.'

The client commented, 'Having looked at selling the land, in hindsight we are glad Kivells were able to secure a tenent for us promopty, without having to publicly go to the open market.'
