The role

Kivells are looking for a full-time Lettings Negotiator based in the Launceston office, with scope to also cover other Cornwall/Devon offices. For the right candidate, we would consider the position being based at the Bude office. Full-time is desirable but part time applicants will be considered. The successful candidate will be ambitious, bright, cheerful, and highly organised, with an ability to work under their own initiative. 

The Candidate

Kivells are looking for a candidate who is very presentable, articulate, has a superb eye for detail together with excellent customer service skills and a strong knowledge of all MS Office packages. The successful candidate will have experience in administration and good telephone etiquette. Previous experience within an estate agency role or ARLA qualified is preferrable but not essential as training will be provided. A full UK driving licence and own vehicle is essential. 

Duties will include (non-exhaustive): 

  • • Meeting & greeting clients, landlords & tenants 
  • • Handling inbound & outgoing telephone calls 
  • • Book, create & conduct viewings with potential new clients and follow up 
  • • Acting as a point of contact for tenant problems 
  • • Liaising with landlords in connection with tenant issues 
  • • Routine property visits to existing tenancies 
  • • Arranging maintenance & repairs for tenant properties 
  • • Processing rental payments and deposits / Calling tenants to chase rental arrears 
  • • Carrying out and preparing inventories / all related general administrative work 
  • • Typing of property particulars / arrange window display / mail shots 
  • • Data input onto in-house database 
  • • Organise diary / valuations / appointments / take messages 
  • • Match clients to properties 
  • • Follow-up viewings 
  • • Ensure compliance with Rental legislation 
  • • Ensuring right to rent and anti-money laundering compliance procedures are met 
  • • Manage and maintain administrative systems and procedures 
  • • Any reasonable instruction 
  • • To fully comply with the duties and requirements as set out in the Employee Handbook including contributing to necessary office tasks to ensure housekeeping This is a fantastic opportunity to hone your existing skills, learn new ones and for the right candidate there’s potential for career progression. 

Working Hours: 8.45am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday plus every other Saturday based on a rota from 8.45am till 12.00pm for time off in lieu.
